Employment contract details
The employee agreement needs to specify information such as term, type of contract, probationary conditions, working hours, vacationd and bonus among others. The employee agreement can be bilingual.
The minimum probation period is 3 months and the maximum is 6 months. The length will depend on the Job Title of the employee. General probation is 3 months and up to 6 months is for managerial positions. If it's a fixed term agreement up to 6 months, the probation period will last 2 weeks.
The federal minimum wage in Russia is RUB 12,792 , but each region has its own minimum:
- Moscow: RUB 20,589
- Saint-Petersburg RUB 19,000
Working hours and overtime
The standard working hours are 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday.
Overtime is allowed with written consent by employee. However, overtime work cannot exceed 120 hours per year and cannot exceed more than 4 hours over two consecutive days. For compensation, overtime pay is 150% the hourly rate for the first 2 hours and 200% for after.
An employee who has given birth to a child, after the end of maternity leave, can take parental leave until the child reaches the age of three. Parental leave can be issued in whole or in part by the partner of the employee, grandmother, grandfather or other relative who actually takes care of the child.
Employees are entitled to 140 days for the birth of one child and will be divided in 70 days before the birth and 70 days after. For multiple pregnancy, the employee will be granted with 170 days. This will be paid by the Social Insurance Fund calculation on the salary from the previous 2 year the month average.
Paternity leave may be granted under a partner employee’s request. Up to 3 years of a child's age. The Government (the Social Insurance Fund) will be responsible for the payment. There is not a mandatory length, will be arranged in the employee agreement with the employer.
Employees are entitled to 15 calendar days of sick leave and a medical certificate needs to be presented. If the employee needs to extend it, it can be done with the medical certificate up to 10 months. The employer must pay the first 3 days of sick leave.
