Employee Agreement Details
Agreements must be in Albanian and can be bilingual. The document should include relevant information such as personal information of the employee, job description, duration of the employment, working hours and gross salary among others.
Maximum probation period is 6 months and it's not mandatory.
Minimum Wage Requirements
Minimum wage is EUR 200 per month.
Maximum working hours and overtime
Standard working hours per day are 8 on a 5 day work week, summing 40 hours per week.
Additional working hours are allowed only for urgent matters and are capped at 8 hours per week. For this case, the employee will be paid 120% of their standard rate for the extra hours.
- Maternity leave: employees are entitled to 9 months of leave, starting at least 28 days before the estimated due date. The first 6 months, the employee will receive 70% of the basic salary from the employer. The following 3 months the employee will receive 50% of the basic salary in Kosovo paid by the Government.
- Paternity leave: employees are entitled 2 days of full paid leave after the birth and 2 weeks of unpaid leave until the child reaches the age of 3.
Employees are entitled to 20 working days per year of sick leave paid by the employer. During this period employees will receive 100% of the salary.
