Employment Contract Details
Employment contracts must be in writing.
The typical probation period is 3 months, only in case the person does not have an active pension fund it can reach 6 months.
Minimum Wage Requirements
The Minimum Wage is ILS 4,300 per month.
Maximum working hours and overtime
The maximum working hours per month are 182 hours.
- Maternity Leave: employees re entitled to 26 weeks of maternity leave (only 15 weeks are under paid leave) provided they work for the same employer for 1 year. Workers with less than 1 year of tenure are entitled to 15 weeks of maternity leave. Up to 7 weeks can be taken before childbirth. During maternity leave the employee gathers seniority and general benefits.
- Paternity Leave: can be taken only if 6 weeks from birth have passed and their partner is back to work.
The first sick day is not required to be paid, the second and third are paid in half and as of the fourth sick day they are paid in full. the maximum amount of paid sick days per year is 18. If the employees require additional days, will have to be deducted from their wages.
