    Employees are entitled to 28 calendar days per year. For part time employees, the same amount will be applicable. Starting from the 1st month of employment the employee accrues 2,33 days of paid leave per month worked.

    Income Tax

    The income tax will depend on many variables, specially the salary of the employee, if they are residents.

    • Up to RUB 5,000,000 - 13% of the employee's salary.
    • Above RUB 5,000,000 - 15% of the employee's salary.

    Employer Cost

    The employer cost range in Russia is 30,2% of the employee's salary.

    Employment contract details

    The employee agreement needs to specify information such as term, type of contract, probationary conditions, working hours, vacationd and bonus among others. The employee agreement can be bilingual.

    Probation period

    The minimum probation period is 3 months and the maximum is 6 months. The length will depend on the Job Title of the employee. General probation is 3 months and up to 6 months is for managerial positions. If it's a fixed term agreement up to 6 months, the probation period will last 2 weeks.

    Minimum wage

    The federal minimum wage in Russia is RUB 12,792 , but each region has its own minimum:

    • Moscow: RUB 20,589
    • Saint-Petersburg RUB 19,000

    Working hours and overtime

    The standard working hours are 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

    Overtime is allowed with written consent by employee. However, overtime work cannot exceed 120 hours per year and cannot exceed more than 4 hours over two consecutive days. For compensation, overtime pay is 150% the hourly rate for the first 2 hours and 200% for after.

    Parental leave

    An employee who has given birth to a child, after the end of maternity leave, can take parental leave until the child reaches the age of three. Parental leave can be issued in whole or in part by the partner of the employee, grandmother, grandfather or other relative who actually takes care of the child.

    Maternity leave

    Employees are entitled to 140 days for the birth of one child and will be divided in 70 days before the birth and 70 days after. For multiple pregnancy, the employee will be granted with 170 days. This will be paid by the Social Insurance Fund calculation on the salary from the previous 2 year the month average.

    Paternity leave

    Paternity leave may be granted under a partner employee’s request. Up to 3 years of a child's age. The Government (the Social Insurance Fund) will be responsible for the payment. There is not a mandatory length, will be arranged in the employee agreement with the employer.

    Sick leave

    Employees are entitled to 15 calendar days of sick leave and a medical certificate needs to be presented. If the employee needs to extend it, it can be done with the medical certificate up to 10 months. The employer must pay the first 3 days of sick leave.

    Termination requirements for employees in

    Contracts can be terminated by mutual agreement, fixed-term contract, or by request of the employee/employer. Termination of an employment contract on the initiative of the employer is possible if there are serious reasons and grounds.

    Payment upon termination of an employment contract by agreement between the parties is not binding

    Severance: If an employee is released due to company liquidation or reduction of personnel, the employee is entitled to their average monthly salary for no more than two months from the date of termination. If an employee is released due to health conditions, the employee is entitled to two weeks of their average salary.
