    Paid time off will be 20 working days for full time employees that work 5 days a week and 24 working days for employees that work 6 days a week.

    General taxation

    Individual Income Tax

    Individual income tax will vary according to the income of the employee and can raise up to 35% of the gross annual salary.

    • Up to EUR 28,000 - 20%
    • Up to EUR 36,300 - 25%
    • Up to EUR 60,000 - 30%
    • Over 60,001 - 35%

    Employer Cost

    Employer cost range is X% of the employee’s salary.

    Employee Agreement Details

    Contracts can be in English, Greek or both languages. The agreement should include relevant information such as personal information of the employee, information about the employer, working days and hours, holiday leave, termination conditions and work position among others.

    Probation period

    The maximum probation period is 6 months and after its completion it can be extended for 6 more months if both parties agree.

    Minimum Wage Requirements

    Minimum wage will vary according to the length of the employment. Minimum wage for the first 6 months of employment will be EUR 870, and will raise to EUR 924 on the seventh month of employment.

    Maximum working hours and overtime

    Standard working hours are 7.6 or 8 hours per day on a 5 day working week from Monday to Friday. According to the type of employment, employees can work on a 6 day working week.

    Parental Leave

    • Maternity leave: employees are entitled to 18 weeks of paid maternity leave. It should start at least 2 weeks before the birth due date. During this period, salary will be paid by Social Insurance and the employee will receive 72% of the monthly salary.
    • Paternity leave: employees are entitled to 2 paid weeks of paternity leave. It must be taken within the first 16 weeks after the birth of the child. During this period, salary will be paid by Social Insurance and the employee will receive 72% of the weekly salary.

    Sick Leave

    Employees are entitled up to 156 days of leave per year. The first 3 days will be fully paid by the employer and starting from the 4th day, the Social Insurance will be responsible for the payment and the person will be entitled to receive 60% of the salary.

    Termination requirements

    The conditions to terminate a contract will depend on the causality of the termination of the employment relationship. Under standard conditions, the employee is obliged to provide advance notice according to the length of the employment relationship. Vacation not taken by the employee must be paid.

    Severance will be paid only in applicable cases when the employer terminates the contract without cause.

    Notice period

    Notice period, after the trial period it will depend on the length of the employment relationship:

    • From 26 weeks up to 51 weeks - 1 week of notice
    • From 52 weeks up to 103 weeks - 2 weeks of notice
    • From 104 weeks up to 155 weeks - 4 weeks of notice
    • From 156 weeks up to 207 weeks - 5 weeks of notice

    Notice can raise up to 7 weeks.
