    The individual income tax is currently 22% of employee salary. However, from January 1, 2022, the individual income tax will be 21%.

    Minimum Wage Requirements

    The minimum wage is 68,000 AMD per month.

    Maximum working hours and overtime

    Standard working hours are 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday. The exact daily time can be arranged in the employee agreement and will include extra time for a break.

    Probation Period

    The maximum probation period is 3 months.

    Parental Leave

    • Maternity leave: employees are entitled to 140 days of leave. That will be divided in 70 days before the child is born and 70 days after the birth. The leave can be extended to 155 if there were complications during delivery. If the employee is carrying more than 1 child, the leave will be of 190 days.
    • Paternity leave: employees are entitled to 5 days of paid leave within a month of the child’s birth is mandatory. However the employer can grant more leave as best practice. This cost is paid fully by the employer.

    Termination requirements for employees in

    The contract of employment may be terminated by mutual agreement of both parties, provided that a 2 weeks written notice is respected. A two-week severance allocation is paid under certain specific circumstances. This amount may be increased by collective agreements.

    Notice Period

    In Armenia, the notice period is based on the length of the labor relationship:

    1 year of employment - at least 2 weeks

    1-5 years of employment - 35 days

    5-10 years of employment - 42 days

    10-15 years of employment – 49 days

    More than 15 years of employment - 60 days
